After making my own website I feel as though I have developed the skills of information organization, and condensing. By giving a unique place for all the necessary materials and only including what was necessary resulted in something sleek and extremely useful for my theoretical students and their parents. In the future I can use the same skills to organize both other technological tools along with the actual content of my lessons. I personally enjoyed the act of creating something that I found to be visually appealing. http://mrscalfhistory.weebly.com/
From working with diigo I have found that I have further developed the ability to research for particular information. Within a class room setting I could see this being abundantly useful. Firstly, by doing so I can provide my students with unique sources that help them get a full image of what they are learning about. Furthermore, it means that my students can get the most out of my class.
I think the use of teachers as early adopters of technology, is that I am largely skeptical. While I am willing to take in to account new tech, I think teachers should not be required to push the envelope on the use of consumer electronics. However I am willing to use proven forms of technology for my education, and I hope in doing that that will result in the required driving force. In this way I will stay on top of technological development through sources like the associated press ( https://apnews.com/hub/consumer-electronics ).
Hi Damian,
ReplyDeleteI took a look at your website and I enjoyed the design of your website. I like the images you included and there connection to your website subject of history. I do have some constructive criticism for you on your class rules and suggested subjects pages. For you class rules page there is an issue with the layout of you page. The dark image makes the class policy portion of this page hard to read because of the dark font and the dark images. It would be great to review and readjust the layout your page. On the Suggested subject page the dark image and dark font are hard to read and the recourses you provide valuable but it would be great to get more diversity than amazon. I would recommend using original book work pages or reviews.
Overall, great work!
Hey,
ReplyDeleteI actually really enjoyed the website you provided and I agree with you that it was very appealing. There wasnt too many contrasting colors but the words popped where they needed. Repetition on the website was nice cause everything was easy to find. Alignment and proximity were also on point with this website because the set up was nice and in order.
Upon opening this presentation the first thing that grabbed my attention was the octopus arms that appeared to be a roller-coaster graphic at first glance. The image was nice, simple and appealing. Thee sub-headers at the bottom were also a nice touch to the presentation, this allowed for more information to be seen in a different format which adds to the websites aesthetic values.
ReplyDeleteHi Damian! First of all, your website is well designed and is fitting for the grade level and subject. I liked the layout on the home page and enjoyed how you added a comment section. The theme is very simple and not too over-the-top. I also think the picture on the home screen goes well with the theme.
ReplyDeleteHi Damian, your website is awesome and I enjoyed the comment section also on the website. The design is fantastic and the pictures and contrast fit well. Everything aligned well and the set up was great and easy to follow. When I opened the presentation I found that the octopus arms was appealing and the headers served as a nice touch to your presentation.
